Hello everybody! I’m student of ‘Faculty of natural science and mathematics’ of University in Split, Croatia. After my graduation I suppose to be a ‘professor of mathematics and informatics science’. I’m very interested to leave Croatia after my college would be finished and continue studding in London, UK. I would like to stud and learn English as well as I could and find some job in my branch. Does it to hard to realize? What I suppose to do about it? Is here, in Croatia, some institution where I can find some information about that? Even your small help will be big for me! Thanks!

what a shame it is that you have to leave croatia . im sure that you will adapt abroad . you will realise that croatian mentality is one big pool of mud thats stopping everyone in their rubber boots walking about from making anything of themselves. im amazed at people who cant understand how difficult it is to adapt to a new life in croatia. and the annoying thing is that croats from croatia go abroad , and adapt easily. because of the mentality and social and economic system in their new australia or uk etc... they themselves are not responsible for their easy transition. but the people of the country . so when someone in croatia tells me that they could easily adapt to life in australia , in response to my argument that i cant adapt to life in croatia. well...i have to agree with them. and they still dont understand or believe my side of the argument. very annoying. i just cant seem to get the hang of swearing in croatian.the dog, mother and religous implications all rolled into one are just too difficult for me.
australia, uk,

Well you could get a sudent visa to come to London, but that's the easy part, you need money to come and somewhere to stay, and then if you wanted to stay longer, well who knows the answer to that. Check with the British embassy or contact colleges in London direct. A friend of mine was thinking of doing this recently but she found that the U.S. was an easier (cheaper?) option. Nonetheless she came back to Croatia. Going is easy, staying......................

Hi I've got a degree in maths too from a british university. I can tell you which areas mainly employ mathematicians.... the City is the number one employer (investment banking, insurance companies esp. actuaries and accountancy eg KPMG). The next most common is teaching. Teaching pays about 30k pa and the city has 30k as a starting salary quickly rising to multiples of that number. For teaching you will need a one year post graduate degree at teaching college to learn "the politics of teaching". For the city you will do between three and five years extra study at evenings and weekends to become professionally qualified. I think they are desperate for teachers, but getting into the city (and staying there) is very, very competitive as it is results based. Living in london is expensive - especially accommodation. You have to be prepared to compromise particularly on commuting times. Otherwise I don't notice many price differences from Croatia. The question you need to get an answer to, is how internationally recognised your degree will be by future employers in the UK? I worked with people from Eastern Europe, Western Europe, USA, Australia & NZ. I never saw racism at work. The UK is more accustomed to accepting people from other cultures than Croatia. Racsim does exist but it is not deemed socially acceptable, unlike Croatia??!

It seems to me that you people are forgetting one minor problem - Croatians are not allowed to seek employment in the UK, unless they have a right of indefinite leave to stay. Forget about it Adonis, even if you want to enter the UK as a tourist for few days, the immigration officer will have to be satisified that you will return to Croatia. You will have to present a return ticket, proof of funds or employment in Croatia and a letter of invitation if visiting privately. Of course, prior to that you will have to get a visitors visa in the UK embassy in Zagreb.

Overseas studends wishing to enrol in a postgraduate programme at a UK university have to pay approx. £7,000-£8,000 for tuition fees alone. Now if you manage to get a scholarship or something, it would make things much easier.

go and work as a building worker in australia. you will be making 1.000 $ a week. no skills required. or do the same job here in croatia for 20 kuna an hour and monthly payment.
