Perhaps of interest to some making calls to Croatia (and other European/Worldwide desitations). Voip Stunt offers FREE calls over the Internet, similar to other VOIP services such as Skype. Software can be downloaded from www.voipstunt.com. I believe a deposit is needed to sign up for long-term free dialing.

I've been using VOIPstunt now for about a month and I am having a great time. My complete telephone bill has disappeared ! Instead of paying close to 2000 Kuna per month I now pay 171 Kuna (incl. pdv) for ADSL and that is it. Even local calls, calls within Croatia and anywhere to Europe are for free now. DOn't know how long it will last, but as long as it lasts I am enjoying it.
There is indeed a deposit that you need to pay. You will only get the unlimited calls if you deposit at least 10 euro on your 'account'. This 10 euro will not be used, it will always remain there, but they hope of course that you will use Voip for all your calls. If you don't deposit anything you will only be able to make calls for max 1 min at the time. That is a bit annoying, so better deposit that 10 euro, can't kill you.
If you use a USB telephone and have ADSL the quality of the sound is perfect, just like a normal phone.

Why use voipstunt where you have to put a deposit in, when you can use Skype without any deposit?

Have I got this straight. voipstunt lets you call from computer to normal telephone for free within and outside of Croatia, not just computer to computer ? and skype is free computer to computer, but you have to pay for computer to normal telephone ?

Yes, it sounds incredible, but true. Frim your computer to an ordinary telephone!

Indeed, that is the big difference between VOIP and Skype.
The whole reasoning behind is if of course to draw customers from Skype to VOIP, so don't know how long the free calls will last. I expect them to start charging people again after a little while, but so far it works perfect.
And Bobs, Skype don't let you call computer to normale landline for free, you have to pay for this service. With VOIP all your calls from computer to a fixed line in Europe are free.
And with VOIP you can also call computer to computer, is no problem.
So, let's enjoy it while it lasts.
Or.................Skype is going to counter with also free calls within Europe or maybe even in the US. Then I really would start laughing, because it would mean this can go on for a long time.
