My world would be easier if I could. But it's hard. I get by. My wife, Yugoslav, Croatian, whatever, is very dodgy with the language. Not confident at all. Trouble is if I knew the language, I would rock boats. I would still REALLY like to learn it. Lot of people speak English. Stops you dead in your tracks.

I have "Tarzan" Hrvatski, I can use cases and tenses although the endings are always catching me out. I've been learning formally in a school for a year (but less an hour a week). It has been the best key I have in terms of getting along here. My experience is - If you can't speak, you're going to be isolated.
Thanks for "Tarzan" analogy Gav. I'll need another soon to demonstrate the next phase.
