Hi all,
I have been at a wedding of friends of mine in Dubrovnik, which was really fantastic. It was organised by a wedding planner called Gloria, an allthough she did a good job, she would be too expensice for us. We would like to get married in Dubrovnik next summer, can anybody give us some advise? Who is a good wedding planner in that area?
Thanks!

You can also have a look at the website of a wedding planner located in Dubrovnik www.dubrovnikweddings.com. We have been in touch with them for the last 2 months now and are very pleased with the information they gave us and the prices are good value for money. Hope this can help! Have fun panning!!

It is unclear to me if you live in that area, but if you do (and even if you don't)............why don't you do it yourself ?
I know it is an American habit to hire somebody to arrange everything, but in Europe 90 % of the people arrange everything themselves. And to be honest, it sounds more difficult than it is.
You make an appointment at the place you want to get married, speak to a restaurant or hotel where you want to have your dinner (they will do the rest), get some transportation, call the local flowerist for some shrubbery, arrange the cards, get some photographer to take some pictures (which nobody is going to take a look at later, so might as well use a friend with a good camera) and design your card. That is about 90 % of the work that needs to be done, it is not that difficult.
But, if you don't have the time to arrange anything then it is different. I assume however that you are not going to travel with 200 persons to Dubrovnik for a wedding, so it should not be that difficult to arrange. However, if you insist to have someone else organize it for you then you can try that link to Dubrovnik weddings of course.

Hi Mambo,
I agree that it is best to organise those things youselves... BUT, I will give you the main reason we need help: the official documents. My friends wedding in Dubrovnik almost went horribly wrong because the town's officiant that speaks English took some time off (sick or holidays, I do not know) and did not inform the collegues about the wedding! They had to call a court translator to the scene at the registrars office to help out, since they do not speak Croatian. The wedding planner was nowhere to be seen.... It wasl all last minute and very stressfull ( I was there since I had to sign as witness)
You see, I have experienced a few of these "small mishaps" last summer and we decided to get prof. help to deal with that. I am not interested in a wedding planner that is not around when you need her.. so I posted this message.
We contacted both the agencies travelhouse and Dubrovnik R. Weddings by now, and have received the best quotes from the agency in Dubrovnik. To be sure, I have checked 3 references of hers and they were all good. I saw pictures of previous weddings and must say, it looked great. So, thank you all for the replies, it helped us a lot. We are quite sure to use the services of Dubrovnik R: Weddings now.
