26 computers for the Croatian police The project of Croatian police digitization was implemented with a EUR 470000 donation by The Kingdom of the Netherlands. Nice price for a computer: €18,ooo each. Must come with a full board operater, free desk and leather chair, mouse pad and I hope monitor. hehe!www.cd-croatia.eu/26-computers-for-the-croatian-police/

That’s what the news article said. Just hope they also can afford to print out some signs in English for their office in downtown Zagreb, foreign sector.

Am sure that the computers are not so expensive, but perhaps the licenses of the software are very expensive. Don't know what special type of software it is, but don't think the manufacturer will be able to sell a lot of them in the world, so that explains the high price a bit.

I doubt special police software is included, as it would need to be in Croatian. To have an operating system such as Windows, MS office and so forth wouldn't cost that much. But then, they could just use DOS, since I know they have a copy of that at the Zagreb central police station, running on their 386 machine.

What is the point of buying 26 standard computers and disperse them over 26 police stations ?
But, it is easy to find out what this is all about, have to be at the embassy later this week, so I can always ask them.
