I think you have to go to the States to visit a CRO resturant, as not very many CRO indians in UK, unless your talking about the bird, then we English don't eat it.

Actually , there WAS a Croatian restaurant nearby , here in Brussels , by the name of Maksimir and situated reasonably close and convenient to the embassy/mission to the EU ; considering the numbers at our embassy , consulate , various missions like the one to NATO , chamber of commerce , regional representations etc - plus the assorted other moneyed Croats out and about here - this should have been a real hit ( ? ) ; however , it didn't last long ; I am not aware of any particularly Croatian dishes or drinks it offered . There has been a hungarian resto in its place for a while now and they seem to be doing O.K. Gastro-diplomacy , indeed !

Yes : and Cafe Montenegro is doing a booming trade , 7 days-a-week ; mind you , not much diplomacy involved , rather simple and straightforward steaks and chips , mussels/frites , beers and suchlike . But , for simple pleasures , nothing much beats a good Lebanese or a Thai , IMHO .

Well, don't cro too much over it Mambo..., as doubt any nation will be calling, especially in Croatia. I've seen Peruvian indigenous people dressed up like Indians, feathers, war paint and dancing the rain song in Zagreb (now we know why it's raining so much), but no Crow Indian has come a calling, hatchet in hand, bow strings pulled or scalpel knife between the teeth.

Bizarrely enough, I came across a Croatian restaurant in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, complete with photos of old Zagreb on the walls.
No cevapi on the menu though.

I saw cevapi on the menu of a few places in Brussels, for 10 euro ! I must say it was hard to have an appetite whilst staying there as the whole city seemed to smell like a toilet !! One of the dirtiest cities I've been to.

To allege that the Capital of EU ( yupp , that very same EU that so many are still , unexplainably , gagging to join ! ) is merely "dirty" , would be a kind and polite understatement!!! In fact , large sections of the town are revoltingly filthy , morning-noon-n- night , in more ways than one ; as a resident of one of the "better" quarters , I pity those , less fortunate ones , who have to navigate dangerously-broken pavements , heavily littered with cigarette butts , dog excrement , discarded condoms , cans and bottles , vomit and other sorts of undescribable , stomach-turning rubbish ; then again , ask youself : what else is to be expected from such a madly politically-correct enviroment , suffering from a prolongued uncontrolled influx from Maghreb , central Africa , Roumania , Albania and worse ? ( And we haven't yet mentioned , just how much more unsafe it has become , any time of day or night !!! Not talking just of lunaticly-irresponsible , aggressive , have-a-go-driving driving , but also of being mugged and learning to walk with a knife in your back..."New" EUrope , for you...) Some might yet see a lesson here ? ( Or , better still : a ) the city might spend a few bob on hose-washing the streets at night - if and when they can get the assorted nightbirds off them ? ) ; b ) or they might employ a few more cops , maybe a less corrupt ones ? )

The easiest way to make Croatian food the most popular in the world is simply ban durex from Croatia... they'll spread to all corners of the globe over time.
Either that or Clone Croats on a mass scale. Bland average affair is brilliant if its domestic!
