This invention will save lives, but not help towards less accidents. That is down to changing peoples driving habits, a bit of education and stricter driving tests. It's pure laziness and lack of attention not to use ones turning indicator (considering it is only a flick of the finger), and it's pure ego and a proud attitude or a dog eat dog mentality tailgating people at road speed (or pure stupidity), or for those hogging the middle or fast lane when driving slow it's self-centered. If you put to much trust into technology it can be dangerous, as up till now it is the human that drives and not the vehicle/machine.

True. I don't see this changing peoples driving habits anytime soon. But it definitely will help save lives by improving response times to accidents and make it easier for tourists who do need help. It's a start at least.

Croatia is going to be one of the major test sites. A wireless emergency call system. Kind of like On Star in the USA, only much more. Think this will surely come in handy for the aging population, the inexperienced driver, as well as the impaired driver all over the world. The future is really cool.
I read this article a few days ago. Today driving into town I noticed someone two cars in front of me. They used their turn signals properly. The car right behind them had no clue what was going on. It was a good thing that the person in front was watching out for themselves. You could tell that they zoomed forward, just to get away from an accident. And I slowed down so I wouldn't hit either of them.
I'm an optimist. I'm going to stay with the future is really cool. Hope I live long enough to enjoy it. LOL.
