Taking a couple of British friends up to Zagreb in a few weeks time. Can any Zagrebians recommend something to do off the tourist track? Something which gives a real feel of the city and its citizens.
Also, has anyone visited the Museum of Broken dreams or the Arts & Crafts Museum? Are they worth a look?
Lastly. A great restaurant. I see 'Trilogija' is no.1 for Tripadvisor reviews. Anywhere else? A local secret, perhaps.
Cheers Z

If you are looking for something "authentic" there is a great little place opposite the veterinary school at the university..............rather spit and polish but heaving with locals (at lunchtime) and a down to earth atmosphere and grub.............cant remember the name but relatively easy to find.

Thanks Mijbil, Eventually we discovered an amazing restaurant called Vinodol on Teslina. At around 2:00pm on a Wednesday, all the restaurants were dead, except for this one. There must have been 60-70 locals in there. Bit off the beaten track and tucked away, but well worth a try. www.vinodol-zg.hr/english.html

Hi Zad, there are many great restaurants in Zagreb like Apetit, Tac, Prasac and Noccturno. If you are staying in Zagreb, you have to visit Gornji and Donji grad. Maksimir forest (with a ZOO) is also a very nice place with a stunning nature, especially in the spring months. Mimara museum and Zagreb chatedral are also a must see places.
