I doubt you will receive Italian on a cro digi box even if you has an Italian digi box all to do with whats transmited. But with a satalite system you can pick up depending on which satalite you point at you can receive English, Italian,German and Austrian channels free to air for a minamal cost. Hope this is of help.

Dear All, Quick question please. Does the Croatian digibox pick up Italian TV in Istria or is it just Croatian channels ? Many Thanks Balacleig Doubt you will get Italian on a digi box unless the wind is blowing your way from Italy. You need either a sat. dish and receiver or cable TV. But really, don't you just want peace and quiet on your holiday?

If you buy an Xbmc box from eBay. Plug it into your TV via hdmi cable or the three pin video cable (supplied) you can watch all uk TV live (and record up to 10 hours) some Italian TV live, all boxed set TV series, any movie past or present, bt sports and sky sports all FREE no subscription.
You must have a reasonable internet connection (wifi or Ethernet cable).

I take it from the comments here that you can pick up Croatian TV with an aerial, you don't need a dish? It is just that I was telling someone that I can't pick up anything on my DVD recorder and they said that some countries don't transmit digital TV terrestrially, only by satellite. The DVD recorder was purchased in Hungary so perhaps it is not compatible with the Croatia system? I don't have a digibox as such but the tuner in the DVD machine would have to be digital.

I don't know about your DVD player but I can tell you that HR has a fully digital free-to-air TV service accessible by normal 'yagi' antennae. The channels are normally transmitted in two batches (transponders). HRT1, HRT2, NOVA, RTL and your local TV channel are on one, HRT3, HRT4, RTL2, DOMA, CMC, SPTV and Kotkica are on the other. This normally means that one group is sent horizontally, the other vertically. Two -10db yagis (one flat, one upright, both pointing in the right direction) should get you clear reception for them all. SLO TV is also available via similar antenae if you live close enough but you need a decoder capable of handling MPEG4 transmissions if you want to see them. Austrian TV is similar but is of no interest to me so I haven't bothered researching it. It isn't difficult, my german speaking neighbours get ORF on a small antenna. There are virtually no satellite dishes remaining in Varazdin these days.

Hello Velebit,
As you have probably seen on eBay there are loads of them. I would go for a fully loaded one (Xbmc, 1channel, Mashup and filmon or expat TV are important to have although you can download these yourself) I think it is really important to have an air remote, this has keyboard and mouse pad and makes searching for films and TV series so much easier. I've bought 6 or 7 already and they are all a little different. Good luck
