I am trying to gather information on some property my family owns on Solta. On Solta, the katastar number identifying the location of a particular piece of property and the land registry number identifying the legal owner of that piece of property are not the same. I have the land registry list number for the properties owned (in part) by my family and I can access the associated list of land registry numbers for the individual properties on-line. For one of the 35 or so properties it contains I have the corresponding katastar number. When I look up that katastar number on line, the ownership of the corresponding katastar list is not the same as that listed in the land registry. I would like to find the katastar numbers for the other properties listed in the land registry list as being owned by us. I know that the katastar office (in Split for the island of Solta) can tell me the correspondences, but I am trying for now to do this from the US, so an on-line cross-reference would be very helpful. Does anyone know of such a cross-reference? I can work with a tool which goes either way- that is, either a tool which provides a land registry number given a katastar number, or a tool which provides a katastar number given a land registry number. Can anyone help? Thanks Frank

Once there, each entry has a link to "Posjedovni list" which shows you all the land plots currently registered as being owned by the same person. As far as ownership is concerned, the Gruntovnica is the one key entry. There may be a dozen reasons why the kataster doesn't show the same information (mostly the reasons are pretty stupid) but the gruntovnica trumps all other registers.

Ribaric Thanks for the reply. As I understand it, Gruntovnica is another name for Zemljisne Knjige (both of which appear to translate to Land Registry in English). I can access the zemljisne knjige at "e-izvadak-pravosudje.hr" and find the properties we own (partially) using what I call the land registry number of any one of the properties or the broj uloska (the number of the list of properties). The ownership listed there is as I understand it the legal owner(s) of the properties in the list, and they include a member of our family (a Croatian citizen living in the US). But I can't tell from those property numbers where the properties are located. Locations are identified by katastar numbers for each property, which are different from these land registry numbers. I know one of the corresponding katastar numbers, and I can access www.katastar.hr and look up that katastar number. As you note, from that I can find the posjedovni list, which specifies an owner (or caretaker) of that set of land parcels. But the posjedovni list shows only a subset of the actual owners listed in the zemljisne knjige. I am confident in spite of this that we still own a share of these properties, since the zemljisne knjige is the official documentation of ownership. The posjedovni list in the katastar has more properties than the zemljisne knjige list, so I expect it contains properties from more than one zemljisne list. What I want to find are the katastar numbers for each piece of property listed in the zemljisne knjige as partially ours. I couldn't find a way to do that from your previous reply. Do you have any further ideas? If I can't find a way online I can visit the katastar office in Split and get the katastar numbers there on our next visit, but I would like to get a head start using online tools if I can. Thanks Frank

Hi Frank, I am having a bit of trouble following you but if you can see the "glavne knjige" (main books) from.... e-izvadak.pravosudje.hr/statistika-glavne-knjige.htmand then the "pregled katastra" (review kataster) which leads you to the "posjedovnih listova" (title deeds) then you have access to everything. Each land parcel has a "cestica" number, this will serve to identify owners in all cases. Having found your cestica number/s, it's a bit of a job then finding the actual location because the maps and ortofoto overlays are not databased. This requires you to find your parcel and reference the grid reference shown on the kataster map. I then take this and go to Google maps to find the location by panning out to include city names or other physical features. It's a pain in the butt!
