Sorry to say this but it ain't there for "human liberty", it's there to stop illegal entrance by financial migrants. I mean, come on, if you are a real refugee (and have ID to prove you come from those countries concerned), then the door is wide open to you. If not, do like the rest of us peoples of the world and apply for the proper visa's, work permits and so forth. My wife isn't British and we had to do a song and dance many moons ago to allow her to both enter and stay in the UK, then we had to do a song and dance to stay in Croatia, go through legal channels, pay or dues. I'm not very hospitable to people who break the law, who are financial migrants and feel they have some kind of right to enter and do as they please in another person country. If a person is truly a refugee then they will be able to prove it! Much like Hungary, Slovenia is land locked on most sides so they need to shore up unguarded border points. So, while I applaud these sport persons & public figures for thinking about "human liberty", I'd say reaching into their pocket books might do more then playing a game of razor volleyball?
