Hello,
Im writing you because Im in desperate need of some clarification. Im a foreign student here in Croatia and I plan to buy a car which I want to export into Germany. I gathered some information until now and I think this plan is technically possible as I concluded from the mup webpage but I still have two questions: How I can get a tehnicki pregled done when the car was not registered for a year and therefore is not allowed to be used on public streets? And furthermore, how is it with the insurance for the export license plates? Is it somehow included or do I have to take care about that before I go to the police station to get the plates?
Hope someone can help and thanks in advance!

Wouldn't it be simpler, and, an (awful) lot cheaper to buy the car in Germany and just use in Croatia for a year before taking it home to Germany?

Well I kind of fell in love with a VW kombi and on top of that its a pretty good deal... Ok thanks for your answers, seems like its more of a hustle then I thought. I wanted to drive it back because it sounded pretty easy to get this export license plates and the car is in pretty good shape so it wouldnt be a problem. Also I think its the cheapest option for me because I dont know anyone with a trailer and renting one is pretty expensive. But maybe I need to overthink that once more...
