Hi everyone,
I hope someone can clear this up for me...a while ago I spoke to a Croatian friend about retirement (I am a good 15 yrs away from that), but anyway... I said that thought I gave up my right to a UK salary deducted pension when I moved here (7 yrs ago) and I dont think I have a right to a Croatian one as I am not a Citizen. (and I dont believe in private)
Anyway...my friend told me that I could make a claim in years to come in croatia, as this is automatically deducted from your wages each month if you not have a private scheme (however it'll be small) and the UK has some kind of deal for retiree's here.
Can someone help and clarify if this is true? and also advise me whether I can still claim my UK contributions?
thanks in advance

Thanks January
The Link is very helpful!...but do you if my working in Croatia still adds to the UK pension, or is it something separate I will have to claim?

You need to pay National Insurance for 30 years in UK to qualify for a full state pension. I enquired and I had paid for 33 years so I don't have to pay any longer. I am 56 now but will have to wait until I'm 67 to get my pension as the thieving UK government robbed me of 2 years entitlement.
