Can anyone explain to me the bill that came for Hrvatska Voda to pay 9600 kunas for "Pristojbu za Hrvatske vode".....water fee. There is no sewer system or city water supply system on Vir. We pay to have water delivered to our cistern and we have a septic tank for sewage in the back yard.
First of all, is this bill Legal? Is there someone to contact to dispute it? What will happen if I don't pay it? I honestly don't understand how they can legally bill us for a water system that does not exist.
Please share your experience or knowledge on the subject. I am trying to keep my cheery demeanor amid all the blatant corruption..........
Thanks

I am in a similar situation, on a private water supply and septic tank and also get bills from Hrvatske Vode. In my case the bills say "Naknada za uređenje voda". My understanding is that anyone who has land has to pay these charges, which cover the cost of storm drains, flood defences etc. In my case the village is in the floodplain of the river Drava and there has been quite a lot of work done near the river bank to protect the area from floods.
