Hi there
We've booked to go to Orasac in September and, although the hotel offers a shuttle bus or boat to Dubrovnik, we were wondering if we could get there on our own. Is there any public transport and if so, what is it like (reliable, cheap, frequent?).
Also would we be able to go further afield on our own or would we need to go on organised tours?
Thank you

There is a very good public bus service throughout Croatia so you should have no problem travelling around by bus. Once you know where you want to go you can generally find bus timetables online or from, for example, Dubrovnik main bus station. In high season you may have to pre book a seat

You can get to Dubrovnik easily by public transport, Number 12, 15 and 35 busses run to and from the main bus station. I'm not sure of the exact cost but it is 14 Kuna single from Zaton Veliki to Dubrovnik so shouldn't be much more from Orasac.

Getting around by car is easy enough until you come to find a parking space. Public transport is good during the tourist season. www.ruralpropertycroatia.com

We were in Orasac a couple of years back, there is a bus service which runs to the bus station in Dubrovnik harbour where the cruise ships dock which runs through Orasac on the main road pretty often. You would have to jump on another bus to get to the old town sorry can't remember the numbers.
