I am trying to secure housing for winter in Dubrovnik. I have had little luck in my price range. 500euro or so. Does anyone know of an agency or owner that has a place(s) near or in Dubrovnik? Not interested in beach life but would rent if close to town and bus service. Also, I cannot get a simple answer to the Schengen rule. I understand Croatia is not under the Schengen Law but some sites say US citizens need a visa after 90 days. Can some tell me yes or no on this. Thanks,

Hi Aime, Non EU citizens can only stay for 90 days on a tourist visa. Croatia is not in Schengen, not yet anyway. I have a contact who has two holiday apartments in the city of Dubrovnik. She normally rents them out of season to students, 1700 kuna pcm for studio, about 2000 kuna for a slightly larger option. She speaks English so, if you want , I'll get her phone number to you. She may be booked but she will know of others. The apartments are clean, modern and well appointed. If so, please mail me on info@ruralpropertycroatia.com - No charge. www.ruralpropertycroatia.com
