Hi all, I have a curly question - if anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it. My husband's mum signed a small parcel of land over to him a few years ago and we built a small cottage on it (next to her little house) in 2015. Sadly Mick passed away last year. My question is, as his wife and a non croatian citizen, am I legally entitled to inherit that property? I fear some of his family don't want me to have any rights here (and I am in Australia) I feel quite helpless and don't know what to do if I get challenged.

You may inherit land, no matter if it it within or without a building zone. As a non-Croatian you cannot purchase land outside of a building zone but you can take ownership of any property due to you under the rules of inheritance. You need to understand those rules, they are not straightforward. www.ruralpropertycroatia.com
