I have a dormant company and there has been no activities for several years. The first years we reported every year to the revenue office and to Fina. Last year, however, we were told that only revenue office needed the statement and there was no need to send it to Fina because they wouldn't use it anyway. Unfortunately, we believed it, but didn't get it in writing.
Now we got a fine totaling 3200 HRK for not submitting a statement to Fina. If we pay within eight days, we only have to pay 2/3. The lady at Fina remembers nothing about what she told us.
Just as a matter of principle we are going to appeal against the decision, but nothing will come of that of course, and because we appeal, we will have to pay the full amount.
I wonder if anybody else is experiencing this and wonders if there isn't a public outcry.

Take care about this. There is no such category as "dormant", doo and jdoo companies can be described as either "active" or "inactive" but in both cases the named directors are required to pay themselves a salary an be taxed accordingly. There are also implications for HZZO, HGK and pension contributions plus mandatory use of a registered accountant. If you not paying these already then l'd advise you to be very quiet about it and pay FINA their ill-gotten gains.
