I am heading to Croatia for five days in mid september with a couple of friends and am unsure whether it is best to head north to the islands or south to dubrovnik and the surrounding islands. We do wan to go swimming but will it still be hot enough.
Where do you suggest we head?

I think it would be better to head down to Dubrovnik and the nearby islands, to be sure that it will be suitable for swimming. In my opinion, mid-September is the best time to visit, as it is not so hot, but still warm.
Have a good time in Croatia.

In early October last year the sea at Dubrovnik was still very nice for swimming.
