Hi Is there a money changing place at Dubrovnik Airport and is it open on Sundays? As I understand the POst Office etc in Dubrovnik closes at midday which is too early for us.

Why not just use plastic? Stradun in Dubrovnik has at least 3 ATMs that will give you Croatian currency on most UK cards. Any card with either the Visa or Maestro symbol works. They recognise the card as foreign, give you a language option and are simple to use then with English instructions. There is no shortage of ATMs in any Croatian city. In Zagreb they seem more numerous than in the UK. Bigger supermarkets usually have them, too.

Is there an ATM at Dubrovnik Airport as I need to be able to get from there to Cavtat or Dubrovnik and will need some Kuna to do so?

Yes. I think in departures, but there may be one at the arrivals end too. My colleague used it 2 weeks ago.
Cheers

What about smaller towns / islands. Are ATMs easy to find to use with visa or cirrus cards?

On the smaller islands you will probably need to change money at the local post office, but beware they often only open in the mornings and some only open for a couple of hours a day. Do not rely on plastic when out on the smaller islands.
