Is there anyway of getting from the UK to Brac and back in a weekend (during the winter) and having at least an hour on Brac in the daylight?
The ryan air flights to trieste being mid-day mean it is not feasible through them with a 7 hour drive down to Split.
Any suggestions?

This is a typical problem. People buy property on the islands in summer then find it well nigh impossible to visit for long weekends, even in summer. Istria is so much easier for long weekends. Graham may know of a Ryanair flight into one of the Italian coastal cities that links with a ferry, but the ferry journey time will be against you.

Simon, Brac is a location during the winter that does lot lend it's self to long weekends as there are a number of problems to overcome.Weather being one that can play havoc with travel time tables.Split Airport is mostly used April-September by foreign Airlines,Croatian Airlines fly return flights to Zagreb so you may book a Ryanair flight to Trieste and then make your way to Pleso Airport in Zagreb.I wish you the best , Brac is beautiful during winter as I enjoy looking at the snow capped Dinaric Alps from the Island But come the Summer it's to me the most beautiful part of Croatia. Bol cafe culture and people watching in Supetar. Regards Stephen

Brac is too far for a weekend trip.
