Croatian Railways has announced that they are starting a major improvement programme on the 362km railway track between these two cities. When the work is finished in mid-June, the journey will be reduced from 7-8 hours to under 5 hours. In order that the work is finished on time, trains will not run between Ogulin and Split with passengers being ferried by buses instead.

The Zagreb Split line has a branch off at Knin which goes to Zadar. It is not a service from Zagreb to Split via Zadar. Well not unless there is a service that is not in my Hrvatske Zeljeznice vozni red.
