We will be flying to Ljubljana via EasyJet later in the summer, with the intention of travelling down to Pula via either Rijeka or Koper.
We are a family with 3 children (they will be 2,5 and 15 when travelling). Without hiring a car can anybody recommend a good way of making this journey?
We drove all the way from the UK when we first visited Croatia and I want this visit to be a little more relaxed and car free. Is Ljubljana - Rijeka - Pula possible on the train, and where could I find such information as timetables. I dont read Croatian!!
Thanks.

Hi, It's possible to travel direct to Pula by train from Ljubljana in summer, you have one direct train (if i remember correctly it's called the Arena?) If not direct, then you'd have to change trains a couple of times at Divaca & Buzet, don't let that put you off though as it's a lovely journey :-) ..You also have the pick of plenty of buses doing the same route but the train is much more civilised in my opinion :-) Cheers David P.S. Take a look here reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en and see what that brings up

we've just booked flights blackpool to stansted then onto Llubljana. Hoping to hire a car at the airport then stay overnight at Lake Bled beautiful scenery georgous area. The next morning travelling down the coast towards dubrovnik. with the return flights only cost £100 for two adults. The return journey once at stansted will probably get the train home to Liverpool. I'm sure this will be the hassle part of the journey unless you stay overnight in London as the return flight stansted to Blackpool only leaves 3/4 hour to pick up baggage, customs etc or get the early morning flight still undecided about this yet? Still fantastic deal..

Easyjets arrival will kill off Adria, they have enjoyed a monopoly for far too long. Just look at Ljubljana airport and see how few foreign airlines fly there, any competition will severly affect Adria. But tough, they have to abide by the European open skies policy.
No wonder Croatian government don't want to liberalise there aviation policy, Corrupt (sorry Croatia) Airlines would go out of business if they had competition.

Mary the cats from Venice to Mali Losinj cost 60 Euro one way or 110 Euro return and take 3.5 hours. Best if you can fly into Marco Polo rather than Treviso airport for Venice (only 1 Euro on the bus into town!), also more choice from regional airports. Timetable etc is on our website.
