New service starting soon from London Gatwick and Manchester non stop to Sarajevo twice a week.
There is a chance of direct flights to Mostar in the future, which will provide an alternative for those wanting to visit the area between Dubrovnik and Split.
Also if anyone gets the chance to be in Mostar for 23 July it will be well worth it because the Stari Most is due to be reopened after being rebuilt.

The new airline is called Fly Bosnia. In the words of the press release "Fly Bosnia is backed by a British consortium and endorsed by a high-level Government campaign from Bosnia's High Representative Paddy Ashdown and Foreign Minister Mladen Ivanic" www.flybosnia.com (when site is finished)

Graham, you just made my day with this information. I'm from Mostar, currently living in Sydney (Australia), but planning to move soon to London to work for an Aussie company in the UK. I've heard about Ashdown's plan to open a direct flight from London to Sarajevo and took it a bit suspiciously, but it looks that it is all going to happen very soon. I know for a fact that there are 1000s of people from the UK who will be happy with this. I'm sure it will also be at an affordable price . This will be a major boost to the local economy and tourism industry in the region. Thanks again

Not sure, I am waiting to hear. It is the possibility of Mostar flights that interests me the most. Try emailing info@flybosnia.com as I am sure that they will be pleased to hear from any prospective travellers.

Not much new info on www.flybosnia.com just an article from the Guardian. I did email them a couple of weeks ago - but all I got was a reply saying one of their management team would be in touch!!!!

Hello! I've been following carefully the progress of Fly Bosnia; and I have to mention they are doing great! They are going to be opening a beautiful restaurant in Victoria, London... serving some of the most popular and traditional dishes (healthy wise). Fly Bosnia has managed to get slots from London-Gatwick and Manchester; and are now in the phase of gaining their CAA Certification. Can I just remind you; a percentage of the profit that is earned will go to the Bosnian orphans....! And also; quite a large work force for the call center will be opened up in Bosnia, which will give a chance to employ Bosnian people and hopefully will receive a wage which is above standards in order to help them support their families etc... Kind regards, Irhad PS. For more info you may ring this phone number: ++44 207 821 6363; how ever if there is no answer you may leave a message and some one will get back to you ASAP, you may quote my name...
