You gave me fabulous news! I don't know how to thank you. You traced my relatives in Croatia who we lost track of more than 30 years ago.
Thank you again.

Chris got in touch with us yesterday, giving us some details of his possible relatives in Dalmatia. We started phoning around, and on the third call we hit the jackpot. The lady in Metkovic was a distant relative and gave us details about closer relations. The whole operation lasted no more than an hour, and we sent the details back to Chris in America.
P.S. The Croatian relatives were overjoyed, as they were also trying to find their US relations but were unsuccessful so far (for over 30 years). We were glad that we could help.

Do you charge for these services?

You should do though Anna!
Just set up a Paypal or NoChex account and you can collect small amounts for such services. It would at least pay for some of your costs.

Karl, we don't charge for these services. There are no more than 10 per year, anyway, as this is not really what we concentrate on. If anyone enquires, we first refer him to the Croatian Heritage Centre in Cleveland, Ohio, run by nice guy Robert Jerin who has all sorts of information on ancestry searches. Robert's website is www.croatia-in-english.com If they get stuck, then Robert would ask us if we could do anything, and it is easier for us to phone from London than them doing so from America. Graham: we feel it would not be appropriate to charge people for this. First of all, you never know the outcome and second, there are relatively few requests. The benefit for us is making someone's day!
