We visited Istria last week and were shown some properties by an agent there which when I checked on the internet were on someone else's books. Do they all share properties? My agent was quoting Euros10k more on the price so I assume he would negotiate with the original seller.

I am half Croatian, and I would buy property there using a private person to negotiate for me. Thus you save money! Agents charge more!

Nicola2, I also seen this with a website quoting prices higher than another website I had viewed.
You do know people locally.I'm sure you went to cafes and Restaurants,Shops also?Talk to these people about you wanting to buy and I'm sure you will hear of properties for sale. They I'm sure can tell you of Lawyers working in the Area also. This is how I did it and saved a Fortune and these people now are my Neighbours and Friends,
Go For it !!!!
