Does anyone know how much you could expect to rent out a newly refurbished 1 bed apartment in Milna (Brac) 50m from the Sea? Decorated to a good standard and with air conditioning?
Also what sort of levels of occupancy should be expected - does Milna / Brac become fully booked throughout the summer?
I am assuming that it can realistically be rented from May to October - is this accurate?
Any info gratefully received

You will be very lucky to get 100% occupancy for any period greater than July and August which is the Italian holiday season. If you have an exceptional property at a low rate you may get a better occupancy rate but you will then have higher overheads and a lower margin if any. There is so much available on Brac that you are going to have to be competitive to get the reservations. Probably 60% of our apartment rentals are in the July August period despite us trying to push the season out at each end. the very carefully about how you are going to manage the ongoing running of the place, such as minor repairs, weekly or bi weekly cleaning, key holders etc.
Give us a call if you want to chat about it.

Simon,
Talk to the locals as well as they can give you a insight into the skills needed to renting,Graham is right about the length of the rental season also Milna has a Yacht culture that may put a dent in your figures as customers stay on board rather than rent,Go Supetar the man ferry port and advertise your property with flyers and go to the local tourist office and tell them about your property.People like to travel around Brac and if they could book with you before they travel to Milna it would make sense to do so . Graham talks a lot of sense as there are many pitfalls that need to be taken on board.I wish you the best of luck with your adventure,
Stephen
