Which resort in Croatia (Istria) is closest to the Italian border? I am thinking in terms of easy access with Ryanair flights. Does anyone know the price of a 2 bedroom apartment there?

Hi Nicola I have just finished buying a place in Novigrad which is about 40km from the Italian border - probably 20mins past Umag . Drop me an e mail at nick.larkins@egg.com and I can let you have the details. Plus I will probably try to rent it to you for when you go over and have a look round only kidding!

Hi Nick I might be interested in renting your property - I am looking just up the coast from you (I just need to persuade Uncle Ivan to sell his share of the house 1st!) and I need a base. Did you visit Restaurant Coc whilst you were in Novigrad? The owner told us last week he had entertained an English couple who had just bought there! ncoghill@aol.com

Hello, Got some info on apartments in Medulin in Istria... Studio at 50 000 Euro 1 bed from 62 000 Euro 2 Bed at 100 000 Euro This prices are too high. I bought two bedroom apartmane in Medulin in November and it was 40000euros. Now you are looking at 60000 for the same flat with surface around 45 to 50 sq meters.

Nicola T
The above information is accurate but if you study the map of Istria you can see that all of Istria’s western coast is within easy reach – all the way to Pula. I certainly wouldn’t restrict myself to Umag and Novigrad, unless you think that travelling two hours, instead of one, makes all the difference.

I have heard that there are inexpensive flats for sale in Pula old town. Anyone know of offers of this kind in the Zadar or Pula region?
