Hi. I am looking at buying a property in croatia via the croatian company method and have a couple of questions:
Is it possible for the company to get a mortgage in croatia and who do I need to contact? Is this an easy process for a foreigner? What are the usual terms of the mortgage?
I sont want to actually live in croatia so I would need someone local to manage the property. Is the market developed enough so that these property management companies exist? If not, would I need to rely on locals to maintain the premises and pay utilities etc?
Thanks

It is not really practical to try and get mortgage in Croatia, as the interest rate is high. Also CRO banks are not very keen on foreigners with no track record in Croatia.
There are not many property management companies, but there are one or two who may be able to do want you want. Many foreign owners of property employ locals to maintain property and pay utilities.
My German relative employs a local person to look after his house on a Croatian island in the winter, and is happy with the arrangement.

On the mainland coast within 30 minutes of either Zadar or Split airport. Around Trogir sounds nice. I have about €150 to spend but I'm not really sure what that buys

CP, £150k will get you a nice property.Trogir is indeed a very nice area and it's situated very close to Split Airport. Try this website www.ired.com as there is a section on Croatia that might be of help.If you need a solicitor I can give you the name of one in Trogir and another in Supetar on Brac who I used. I wish you the best of luck and if you have any other questions please ask @ my e-mail address collinu@tcd.ie Kind Regards Stephen

I have been in to see Dalmatian Villas in Split this week and they do not currently have their property management arm set up. They are saying they MAY have it sorted for the summer tourist season, but as yet do not seem to have firm plans. If anyone finds a property management company in Brac please could they let me know!
