Please beware of this company, Broker, based in Split. A relative is buying property in Croatia through them and is finding them very difficult and guilty of sharp practice.
On checking the national organisation of lawyers in Croatia, they have stated that they have a bad reputation within the country.
Think twice before buying a property through them, it could cost more than you think.

There are rumours circulating at the moment about this company selling land to foreigners for building purposes that is not actually designated for residential development.
Everyone seems to have a bad story about this company.

This is really bad news. Especially as they were listed in recently published (and here discussed) The Sunday Times article.
Maybe the person who had bad experience should contact the Times and advise them of this.

The article in the Sunday Times was a paid feature ordered by real estate agents who published outrageously high prices for properties in Croatia that could be bought for much less money.

does anyone have anything good to say about these guys? To the originator of this chain, " can you expand on your friend/relative's bad experience? Did his/her sale go through?
anyone else used them and got any testimonies?
they obviously have a lot of property and therefore difficult to ignore.

Just be sure of who is making comments about real estate agents and the motives for doing so - either positive or negative.
We have had some of our clients tell us that they have been charged 10% commission on purchase and the vendor has also paid a commission. We have also been told nightmare stories of incorrect documents being issued etc.
Best advice is to speak to someone who has gone through the process of purchasing and chat with them. In the long term the cowboys will become well known and those that offer a good honest service will come to the top.
Take care and beware of the wild west mentality of some who see Croatia as a goldmine for short term gain

I saw only guests (without names and adress), if somebody has problem with us, write name, adress and some of our corespodence. We are ready to answer to all your questions. We have concritly aprow for anything what we have said. Some of you give wrong information to British buyers, and that is very dangerous for them. We have enough work, we do not need advertising, only want to help. I will give you many reasons why it is better working with croatian people. Broker team

I understand that Broker has at least 10 websites (different domains), actually someone said 22 !!!, promoting their business. And most of the properties advised as for sale are not available.
This is extremly worrying for potential buyers. I personally would not deal with this company.

I had a good experience with Broker. Email correspondance was good and a phone call to their main office produced Hvar representatives the next day. They were charming and helpful (though cost E50). When I insisted that we visit difficult-to-get-to property which was on their web site, we went there. When we stopped for a rest from the heat, they bought my family drinks...turns out the property I was interested in was not well represented on their web site (issues re. deeds and distance from sea), and the reps phoned the main company and it was removed from sale within the week. They seemed fine to me though I didn't buy with them in the end.

For any non-uk readers: in our system, usually you are contracted to <b>sell</b> a house through a single agent and you have a "For Sale" sign outside your house. - This sign IS very useful!
Listen Brits - our sysytem has a lot of advantages, but our system is also quite rare. - How many "For Sale" signs do you see in France, for example?
Anyhow, if you have the independant sense to use a good lawyer and do a bit of research, does it matter so much who you buy from?
Come on moaners, leave it out or at least have the courage to go to the agents themselves with your specific concerns.
Get a Life! And don't post online unless you have rock solid evidence which you are prepared to share.

Please explain to me why Broker needs over 20 websites advertising the same properties. This is unheard of in the UK or USA!
