be careful.
many croat take the hostile politics of the british government towards croatia into consideration when dealing with british citizens. it is a matter of fact that for austrians, germans and italians buying property is still a lot easier than for british.
that is not because of the existing laws, rather because of the people themselves.

I strongly disagree with this attitude! Some people don't like their neighbours, but this is true all over the world and cannot be related to one nation! Anyway, I assume that if you want to buy a property in a foreign country, you must know something about the country, which includes going there and meet local people, which also means time and some energy spent on that. Of course that nobody would like you if you go there and want to grab money on easy way: no matter your nationality, people will not be friendly with you. But, the fact that now UK doesn't want to ratify the SAA which may postpone the European Commission's opinion on Croatian candidature to the EU: I do not think that local people follow that carefully and that it should influence their opinion... And why should Croats dislike French people or love Germans or Italians? Dont' buy all stories that have nothing to do with today's Croatia.. Most of Croatians were against American attitude towards Irak and all other things - so... some people don't like Americans... Anyway, if you want to buy a property, you should come here and get the know the culture, people...or should hire somebody locally to be your manager for the country!
