Folks, I never thought my initial question would lead to such an interesting discussion and fact finding exercise, at least it was interesting before some individuals started threatening others. It would be nice if these individuals ceased their childish behaviour and we reverted to our more pleasant discussion....
It appears that Lina has indeed attracted a lot of interest. It seems a beautiful place to holiday but as far as investment potential, it probably needs that airport that people are mentioning to become a good investment. Does anyone have confirmation if that airport is going to be built?

I am following very closely all property related messages on this forum, as I am also trying to set up a business as a property agent in Croatia.
I have even exchanged some messages with Anna and Angelo asking for their advice, which was readily given (thanks!).
As I understand Angelo helped Peter to set up his property business, even giving him that wonderful name Croatia Property Services, which works extremly well on the Internet (I am searching for similar name!)
Peter up until recently was constantly advertising his business on this forum, and I am puzzled why he thinks he should get all this for free. Everybody wants to make some money nowdays, and nothing wrong with that, IMO.
Peter, are you working for FREE (please note I am not taking any side, just puzzled with your attitude!)?
Best,

There has been talk of an airport on Korcula for a few years now. The last time I heard it mentioned it was planned to be a small regional airport rather than an international one, much like the airport on Brac. I would be interested if anyone has any further details, as I would if anyone has any updates on the Lumbarda developments.
By the way I agree this board is not a suitable place for a slagging match, but once started it is difficult to stop as no one will want to loose face.

Peter is another arrogant Brit! Why, as Croatia (and Croats) are good to him.

"As I understand Angelo helped Peter to set up his property business,"
He suggested, on the occasion that I met him, that it was a good idea and that Anna could do me a website. In the event, I actually employed some Croatians to do it locally here, as it was more convenient and we could do it face to face. Anna kindly put a free advert on the site, as she did for a number of others. They referred three or four people to us and I also carefully noted any others who approached us directly, whose names I had seen here. So far, not one of them has bought anything. That was the sum total of their help and kind though it was, there was nothing more to it than that. Having gone through many of the administrative experiences and travel that people were asking about here, I was willing and able to advise them of procedures for travel, getting married, getting visas, extended stay visas and permanent residence, as well as on property law and I think I am still the second most prolific poster of advice on the site, despite having pulled back after the thousand pound request last year (recently?). It seemed quite unreasonable when the time I was spending on helping people on the site was helping to build up the site's reputation as a good place to go for advice. I was also answering a lot of questions emailed to me directly. Basically I saw it as working and being expected to pay to work. I was hardly getting advertising for free as I was advising people here on a daily basis and spending a lot of time on it. Since neither Anna's advert nor the day to day contacts had produced any sales it was clearly pointless paying out a thousand pounds for advertising and I told Anna and Angelo so. It was a business decision. If I pay out money for advertising it has to produce results.
Given that there are undoubtedly some agents in Croatia whose business practices would surprise visitors, I felt that the 'bad experiences' remark could suggest that we were doing the same. Whilst people who know me would know this was not what was meant, any others wouldn't. This would be bad for our Croatian clients and my business and I asked for an apology.
By the way, I am a fully committed Croatian citizen, having taken Croatian nationality and promote Croatia, as Angelo and Anna do, on every occasion. Croatia is a super place and 99.9% of my friends here are Croatian, as I integrated rather than becoming an expat.

Peter you forgot to comment on the allegation that Angelo gave you that good name "Croatia Property Service". Is that true or not?

I would say that argument is between Peter and the webmaster and since none of us were involved, we should not add unconstructive, immature comments such as yours Milan ('another arrogant Brit') - any excuse eh? Why on this website do discussions often end up as anti British mudslinging opportunities regardless of the situation? There are business disputes between all nationalities (probably even between Croats Milan!) Your comments are actually making you appear more arrogant than any other posting on this site.

Nicole, with all due respect, you are wrong. As I see it , what Peter does and did is wrong: patronising attitude, legal threats, abusive language, being arrogant, etc
How would YOU feel I this would have been aimed at you?
We living and coming from small nations are fed up with this attitude. Please respect us!

You have to earn respect Milan.
Can't comment on Peter's situation because I wasn't there and I've learned from this website that there are a LOT of biased views on here

Nicola, are you saying that we Croats have to earn respect?

No that ONE has to earn respect and that personal racist comments on website don't do it for me I'm afraid (regardless of whether you are British, Croat, German etc etc) Thankfully I have had nothing but respect for ALL the Croats I have had dealings with so far and luckily haven't encountered your anti British feeling from anyone there, otherwise my (very high) view of the country may have been tainted.

Sorry it was not me who apologised. Someone has taken my identity (definately not another Croat!) and I find this despicable. Any views on that, or in your book this should be allowed.
