Once a property is reserved in Croatia is it normal to ask the Lawyer for a copy of the Land Book, Building Permission and Division Document just to verify that things are in fact ok (I know its in Croatian)? It is nice to have things like this in your own file... It has taken just two days for our Lawyer to complete investigations and title checks... is that standard? I thought it may have been a slightly lengthier procedure.... Approx 2000 Kuna for court translation of Developers documents and Sales Contract... how does this sound? Awaiting responses from your own experiences!

Trag, This seems a very short time.Things seem to happen slower rather than faster in Croatia.Who recommended this person to u ?Do u know the person to be associated with a reputable bonded law firm ?I understand the process should take between 3 wks to 1 month.

Thanks for replies The agent I'm purchasing through does not market a Property unless they themselves have first verified the authenticity of the Titles, building permission, kadestral numbers etc... It has been rather fast for the Lawyer to confirm all this, however I am being given copies of all this documentation inc the building permission from the council, copies of title deeds and authorised building plans. I would presume that having several apartments being built and already having sold several before mine that all of the research has been done previously for other off plan purchases of the same Development. It is good to hear your responses though and i will follow up the concern with a few more enquiries myself!! Any one else with experiences similar to mine or any one with some more valuable input... I'm all ears!
