Can someone suggest how I can get a mortgage to build a house in Croatia please? I bought land last year and now need to build but I'm having problems finding anyone in the UK who is willing to lend the money to build. If it were Spain I would be tripping over offers! Please help!

i have also been researching this.
FPD savills who are a real estate agency that also do mortgaging have told me that they investigating setting up a scheme to buy property in croatia. they told me to ring back in a cou[ple of months to see if there was anythuing more definate.

shouldnt be a problem at all just get a remortgage and say its for a property purchase. they wont ask anymore about it.

Thanks for the tip on Savills - I've written to them and will let you know their answer. Hamptons also offer overseas mortgages so I'll try them too. Any other suggestions?

Hi! Do Savills and Hamptons offer mortgages to Irish buyers ? I heard recently that a Uk mortgage company just signed with a Croatian bank. Will keep you posted, if you would like, or maybe you have an update on these previous posts
