Do you 'really' want to buy rent?

I am possibly slow to catch on. At how many 'sounders off' on here are purely in it for the money. And nothing else. Perhaps I'm just an old cynic. Profit's okay. I don't mind a profit, or anyone out to make a profit, but...if it's dressed up as something else, with the mandolins strumming), well. Go for it if you fancy it. If you are taken in by such things.
I am here on the ground, emigrated from the UK five months ago. In Sibenik, and probably know quite a bit of the score. Certainly more than I knew five months ago. The legalities, the system for an outsider. The straight builders, restorers, suppliers, solicitors etc. And, keep this in mind, everyone and his mother/brother here has a property to sell or an apartment to rent. Money up front. Illegal properties. The full trip. Seen it. If you really want help I can probably find you all of these things. Legally. Straight. And I'll charge you a commission. I'm not greedy. You don't have to be greedy to get along in Croatia and, there are MANY properties. But there wont be one day, maybe quite soon. 2007? Think about it. You can't email me directly and I don't have a website devoted entirely to selling Croatia to the highest bidder. (But I do have a website, in 'other things.') Messages left will all be answered. Think about it. All is not what it seems in Croatia. Trust no-one would be a good starting point. 3%-6% is the accepted cost for allowing 'someone' to find you a property. Think that's cheap? That charge is not written down in stone anywhere.
Someone came to view my propery this week, advertised by an agent somewhere at year 2001 price. Probably another dozen agents still have it on their books. It's a 'free for all', believe me. Unlike anything you've probably ever encountered.
Croatian/English spoken, and we know poeple locally whom we can trust. Everyone will take a slice, that's accepted. But I'll help you if I can to get a good deal. Think about it.

Nigel. Please. Don't talk like a child. You know nothing and probably never ever will do. Though you might, one day. But not right now.
The offer is there. Any UK 'outsider' who wants some help, anyone who thinks they may be able to move to Croatia, and buy and live. I'll do my best to help and get paid for the service. I've had dealings with the authorites, many times. Notaries, agents, solicitors. builders, restorers and fitters. Some superb fitters and suppliers. It's been an education I could pass on. It's all been interesting, and Croatia is the best type of okay. That's it Nigel, and thanks for the useless contribution. It was wonderful.

No messages, I am not surprised. 5 months and one week working on temporary stay. Today I got it. If I want permanent stay I need to do it ALL again, starting NOW. All the documents again, and none of the existing ones are out of date. Then, should I want citizenship, I'd need them ALL again. Possibly in 2007 the system would change making all of this history. Or maybe not. What would all these officials behind desks do?

I could help. I could find you a house, and all of the rest. A house I bid on in February, and never got a response, is STILL empty, and there are another thousand, ten thousand, hundred thousand like it. Are they for sale? Or is everyone waiting for 2007? For the time being, other than the system, Croatia is a great place to chill out.

And check this one out. My form to go for 'the next step' was 20 kuna. PLUS 22% extra, VAT. (Rounded down to 20% for no apparent reason). Amazing.

Pardon me but how did you become such an expert in 5 months?

Please take this as constructive criticism but based on your approach you would be the last person I would consult if I needed property advice.

I've already found a house I want but it's only ~80% sure of happening, despite offering the asking price.
But, house or not, me and my young (english) family are moving out in September. I truly hope not to be renting/camping through Christmas.

Some kind of expert if I can read the puzzled, angry and confused faces coming out of the 'aliens' room at the local cop shop. And the harrassed face of the 'official' who handles it ALL. All races. A very capable woman.

Constructive criticism from idiots will only be respected if better information is available. From what I see, it isn't. But it's optional. I don't really care either way, and this aint a business venture. www.freecharitablehelp.com does not follow these entries. But, if anyone wants a bit of help, I can do it...a bit of help. If not...like I said. Help yourself. That's all. No drugs. Just the system. It's crap. Needs changing. But, it isn't, going to change, so...live with it. I would suggest, with an attitude of not trusting anyone in Croatia, you shouldn't be there. Can they trust you? Your post is full of contradictions. Get a life and enjoy wonderfull Croatia.
