Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on this problem I am trying to sort out before buying a house on the Peljesac. The problem is that there is an inconsistency with the measurements on the title document and the possession document from the cadastre. The area of land in question is just a bit of land at the side of the road near the house used as a common parking area. I have been told and have read that all information in terms of ownership and sizes MUST match up for the ministry of foreign affairs to approve my application when all paperwork is submitted. I have approached the agent who has told me that the different measurements do not matter, only the ownership is important.
Should I make sure this is resolved by insisting that the measurements match or is it safe to go ahead and purchase the property?
If I need to solve the problem how do I go about this? Regards Charlie

Regards Charlie Sorry to get in to this one, as I speak to much on this message board but, whatever is your problem, get it sorted with your solicitor if that is at all possible. Things are so vague here. Frighteningly vague. Measurements all over the place. But, once you have bought and waited for god knows how long for your 'final ownership' document, which I have just got, and paid for, another 500 kuna, well you can find you are at war with all the local Croats (if you want to be at war). Because they'll be that way, if you let them. Sort it. Concrete. (Concrete, funny that, in Croatia) But do sort it and get signatures from everyone, tripple signed, stamped and with all the stamps these Croats love to issue. Then 'maybe' you have some come-back. I emphasise 'maybe.'
