I have been told that I need planning permission to build a stone wall over 1m in height. Is this true?

In answer to your question: YES, but no.
Build the goddam wall.
Half of Croatia is built by concrete heads and 90% of it is both 'rubbish' and illegal. But no-one 'may' do anything about it.
IF you start to build the wall and no local 'village idiots' come out and shoot you, your wall will be okay, (and you), for a 1000 years. They may make you a saint and have 'another' public holiday in your name. Unless it's 'first from the sea'. And then the FISH may complain.
Those fish eh....Buggers!
Seriously though....I am only cynically making comments on the pottiness of Croatia. Bill and Ben have nothing on this place. In fact, actually, they speak the same language!!!!
It's the 'DAY OF THE DEAD' for TWO days this weekend, in Croatia...Groan. Buy shares in candle containers, immediately!!!!
