Hey there We will be in Brac next week looking to furnish an apartment there. Can anyone give us some pointers regarding furniture shops in Split/Brac which may be useful. An IKEA style furniture would be ideal. The place will be used mostly for holiday rentals. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. We have heard Split has more range and slightly cheaper. We anticipate at this stage hiring a small truck for a day or so and then transporitng it on the ferry ourselves to Brac.... any ideas? Cheers and thanks! Trag

The best place for that kind of IKEA stuff is Lesnina, which is a bit outside Split on the way to Sinj. It's in Dugo Polje, in a big kind of industrial estate. If that's too far out, Emmezeta is a good second choice - it's on the old Kaštel road. It's well signposted.

A couple of great alternatives for furntiure in Split are: RETO Centre in Solin, it does 2nd hand and is cheap, delivers and has a pretty good and clean selection. Also around the Poljud in Split there are 2-3 companies and also on the main road into Split from Sibenik you'll find a decent selection.

Thanks for the tips all! We bought 90% of our kit from Lovro and Aneric up the road - all in Supetar. After comparing the prices with the mainland and considering the extra costs in transport as well as the hassle and the time, the Supetar option worked out approx 5% more expensive but 110% more convenient. We only had five days to do the whole exercise including painting, a/c, light fittings and bathroom fixtures. Lovro was great and although he made a pile of $$ from us he provided an excellent service, one which I would have no hesitation in using again. Ciao to all and happy summer

He dug me out of a hole in Milna last summer when a furniture agent let me down badly. He s a bit of a shark but truly worth the extra spondoolicks, especially as he delivers and fits. Are you interested in letting as we need more properties to keep up with demand Niamh

Can anyone please tell me more about Lovro and Aneric in Supetar. Are they shops and is there any way of contacting them in advance of a visit?

HI! Lovro is contactable via phone but you wont get him as he never answers.Your best bet is to go over and sit down with him go through his brochures lead times etc, he also does kitchens. He does carry stock that you can buy straight off the floor, he can also organise slovenian furniture within a 2 week period if all the stars align. Best advice is to get a list of what you need in advance , know what you want and more importantly what you need. Then go over. I would buy the basic ivnetory in Emmezetta it is by far the cheapest. When you get off the ferry turn left and right at the first roundabout the two furniture shops are on the left. Be aware that it can take up to 12 weeks to order some stock and if you are looking for a kitchen from him it might take longer as he is very popular. He has some great Italina furniture on his books by the way

Thanks for the help but I still do not understand if Lovro and Aneric are shops or people/agents. Will I be able to find Lovro easily?
