Property in Croatia usually is sought by type, for those who love the countryside and the quietness of a village the inland of Istria, in Croatia is a good point to start looking for their dream property in Croatia. Istria is the largest peninsula of Croatia, situated in the north of the Adriatic is the closes part of Croatia to Italy, in fact Istria is often compared with Tuscany for its Italian flavour -Istria used to belong to Italy at some points of history. The difference here it's that buying a property in Istria inland is a good investment as the Sea is just 30 minutes away. Many old towns are built on top of hills as an old tradition of protecting the village for enemies. Now this is a key point when buying property in Croatia, the sceneries from the hills are stunning and tourists love it! Most of the old stone houses in Istria are in need of some renovation so when buying property in Croatia and going for the old stone style think also in some extra money when calculating your budget. There are many gorgeous villages to look for old stone houses in Istria, Croatia. Motovun is well known for its film festival in summer and the beautiful fort around the city. The roads are magnificent and tourists have this town usually in their list when visiting Istria. Other towns for looking for old stone houses are Oprtalj, Buzet, Hum and Roc. Istria is definitely a place to look for old style property in Croatia. Regards Ines Croatia Properties www.croatiaproperties.biz

Hi, very good information! I have a question for you. I ned a property to rent for about 1 or 2 years, and an old stone house or farm would be perfect. I need a 'rustic' location for my photography. I do not care if it is in good condition, in fact if it is 'rough' that is even better! Are you allowed to rent me a property while it is for sale? This is very common in the United States - if someone buys the property, then the renter simply moves out. I would be very interested in this kind of arrangement. You can e-mail me at info@mxphoto.com if you would like to discuss this. Thanx, Dave
