Could anyone tell me how I would find out how much a house sold for in Croatia. The home my grandfather was born in was sold 3 years ago and I would like to know what the price was at that time. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think an answer to this questoin would help a lot of people. Even a - 'no the information is unavailable' so we can move on. Anyone? ?

Pacific, you'd have to contact the local land registry office (local to the house that is) and ask them there. Depending on where it is they can be brilliant (as in Knin and Sibenik) or really lazy and unhelpful (Dubrovnik), you might have to put it in writing, however, and hold onto your horses until they sort it (worse case scenario). The offices normally open 8-12 (with a wonderful long break from 10.45-11.30).

In my experience (admittedly it's somewhat limited) you need to find a decision maker in the department of land registration and "flatter" him/her to give you the facts. These people are worth knowing if ever you need to thoroughly check a clean title or similar. I think the Brits call them "estate agents" but lets not get cynical here.....noooooo
