My name is Danijela and I've lived in london for 3 years. I'm originaly from Croatia where I live now, in part called Slavonia. During my stay in London I've met such a kind people there who always helped me with all things which I didn't know anything about. I'm very happy that British people are moving to my country and I'm glad to help them with all their possible questions. I would like them to have good opinion about Croats as I have about them.Do not hesitate to ask, please.

Hi Dani, if only more people were like you. How do you like life in England? London really is a busy city, and I think you either love it or hate it. I bet you enjoyed the rain and the fish and chips

Hi Dani,
Good to hear your enjoying life outside of your culture & dont mind that some people dont seem to like the experience of living outside of theirs- life is different for all of us and I think i will love to spend my summers in Crotia regardless.
You keep enjoying life as you are.
Me and some friends have purchased a site subject to planning (takes forever) and hope to have a holiday home there - really looking forward to using it for that.
What concerns me is do you know... (now I have lots of questions but if you can help really would appreciate it):
What does it cost to build your average 2 bed 900 sq feet flat (in Ireland about 90k would build it, its the site that costs so much)
When your not there is it easy to find a reliable company / agent to rent it and be honest and actually do a good job.
Are builders likely to keep to there quotes or is considered ok for the builder to just keep increasing the price with bogus claims of extra needed? (no offence meant with this question, I am sure they are honest to goodness people there but just wondering)
Can it be rented by me as a indiviaual owner or does it have to be owned by a company?
Enjoy the fish n chips and the rain will stop.
best wishes
Hughesie

Hi Hughesie,
As you sow in my first message I said I would like to help anyone who would like to know more about my country. I decided to do that like this. Few months ago I started my own company. It is a real estate agency and I'm selling properties mainly to foreigners. I started this because I was happy to hear that people from Britain,Ireland and other coutries would like to buy property here. I think its a great opportunity for us to become friendly and to make friends with people from other countries which is my favourite hobby, I really enjoy and I'm very open person. When I sow this forum I thought that people really know little about Croatia and that they really need help.
I would recommend to you to buy apartment in new building in one of our beautiful islands like Krk,Pag,Hvar etc. Then when you got it the easiest way is to go to nearest tourist agency and tell them that you would like to rent it. Give them dates when you are not going to be here so they can rent it to tourist. Its really easy. You can rent it for 40-100 euros daily depends on area. I will help you about finding great flat if you want. Renting during Summer it's a very good business in Croatia. I think why people in Croatia doesn't want for foreigners to buy property is because they are affraid that then it will be difficult for them to rent and they live from that. So don't be affraid, ask me what ever you want and I will explain everything to you. You can get property as individual, you don't need to have company here.
I'm looking forward to your answer
Kind regards,
Dani

Hi Dani We have seen a property and some land right next to a church and cannot understand why it hasn't been bought by anyone yet. The agent says that it is because there is a graveyard next door - which we don't have a problem with, but wondered whether Croatians see this as a problem ? We absolutely love your country and found that everyone was so helpful and friendly. I can't understand why you are living in London, especially with this terrible weather! Best wishes, Fran

Hi Fran,
Thank you for your message. I like my coutry very much and I think it is the most beautiful country on the world. I live in Croatia now but few years ago I've lived in London and I was studing Englsh there. That was the reason of beeing there. I've heard that many people have wrong opinion about Croatia so that is why I've opened this topic.
I aslo have my property agency here in Croatia and I can help you a lot with your questions. As you heard alredy people don't want that land because it is by graveyard. I also had so many cases like that. They just don't want it, reason is that they don't feel comfortable living next to graveyard. It looks strange but nothing we can do about it.
I hope you will enjoy here and you will buy nice property. If I can help you with anything just let me know.I have many peoperties in my catalogue.
Kind regards,
Dani

Hi Dani
Thanks for answering my question - I certainly don't have a problem with living near a graveyard afterall it's the living that you have to watch out for not the dead - they can't hurt you!
A lot of Croatians I met seem to be so unaware of what a beautiful country they live in, maybe they should spend some time in London in the winter!! Can you let me have your website address?
Best wishes, Fran

All this seems to sound too rosey.
I have a question for you Dani.
Are you registered to conduct business as a real estate agency with ALL the necessary documents? The reason I ask is because I can't find your agency listed.

Hi What do you mean if I'm registered? Ofcourse I'm. Why do you think I'm not? ? It's not a problem to register real estate agency in Croatia and to work honestly. Problem is with agents who charge huge commisions and don't have any documents to work. Why shouldn't everything be rosy? Don't you think that it would be nice to offer honest service to foreign people so they can have different thoughts about us? I'm honest person, I don't want to cheat anyone I want to work and be honest agent who will really help them. Because I can see on this forum that they really need help with everything. Ans who are you to ask me those questions, would you like my licence number or what ? Dani

Hahaha, All my clients will have my reg. number and everything else so they can check that I have registered agency. I'm sorry but you are not one of my client and I can't give you my licence number on forum, sorry. Who are you if I may ask? Why are you looking for my licence number ? Are you trying to stole my business or are you an agent who charge clients 5% to sell their house
