Does anyone know where the best places are online for properties on Vis? We are looking to purchase a small holiday home.

You could check out the following website - www.nvconsult.com . A few months ago they emailed my husband with quite a few properties in Vis which looked good - mostly needing renovation. Alternatively, there's a portal of Croatian real estate - www.realestatecroatia.com. This is how we found the house we bought on Vis. Our agent was Ines of Lipi Skoji (a one woman band based in Split) and she's fab. It could also be worth contacting her direct - she charges 3% commission on purchase but no extra fees for viewings or her travel costs. Her email is nekretnine.lipi.skoji@st.htnet.hr Hope this helps and best of luck! Emma

haha. it looks to me as if ines has decided to change her name to emma, especially for this forum.

Not at all! Ines Mijic is her name, and I know Emma and Ines are not the same person because I'm only married to one of them...and we bought our house through the other!
Tautec, drop us a personal line if you need any Vis help.

nope, just trying to offer some help - not my own personal help, i hasten to add! work and mortgage commitments in london preclude that.
it's ironic because ben and i are part of few on this board who are honest (foolish?) enough to use their real identities.
also what right-minded real estate would recommend other estate agents first? Doh!
anyway, the three routes i mentioned are all good ways to find property on Vis island. Good luck!

why would i think that you have an english realestate agency and that you are recommending a croat agency' ? however , after living in croatia , with the corruption and wickedness alll over. it is logical for me te presume , suspect that emma is in fact ines. sorry if i presumed wrong. and why would someone go to an agency when i can translate the ads i see in the local papers and realestate magazines , for potential english speaking buyers. and then direct them to a lawyer. thats what most agents in croatia do anyway and they charge a large fee to do that .
