A few days ago a block of 200 apartments in central Zagreb (still in project stage), called Centar Zvonimir (near the main bus terminal) was put on the market, and there was a long queue of people wanted to buy it, which was totally unexpected. Many latecomers were disappointed.
The main reason for such a demand is because it is a central location and it seems that the apartments were underpriced (1.970 to 2,070 Euros per sq. meter).
Another block will be realesed soon, but the price is expected to go up to 2,500 Euros per sq. meter.

2,000 Euros per sq. meter? There must be a lot of rich people in Croatia.
I will never be able to buy something, if the prices are so high!

1st - the price was low for the location... flats in the vicinity are around 2200-2400€ or even more 2nd - the building contractor was "Tehnika" - and tehnika is a good building company, people have confidence that the flats will be finished in time and of good quality
so, smart people rushed in... but tehnika does everything according to the bulding code, and they don't cut corners in building... that's why they can sell out even before they touched the plot with excavation machinery...

It does seem quite cheap. Here in Munich a new appartment in a good city location costs 4000 EUR per square meter.

I've tried to get some more information on these apartments and haven't found anything online. I was wondering if any of the local papers are online?
