Mark, this is just the latest expose on the proposed develoment, it details the boasts being made for the thing, who is involved, the money etc. And as the headline says, millions of euros for pictures from a brochure. There is a problem thrown in where some of the land (from previous articles on this it's over half) is owned by the government and thus anything built on them in form of residential homes cannot be sold!
The second paragraph they've outlined who is who in the development, that it's an Austrian led deal with local Croats and they're selling to British and Irish, but that it's shrouded in fog.
Next they say there's 60 pre-contracts signed and money in teh bank, but it turns out the 50ha signed over from the local council, Preko, cannot be used for selling private residences.
Overall it's slightly confused, but I believe deliberately so as this is the typical silly season (whic gets longer each year in Croatia) about the wicked westerners coming in and this is a feel good one, that these aforementioned folks are in the middle of what could be a con or mess!
If you've signed up, get hold of your agent and see what's happening. Otherwise you're only getting hearsay and stories!

Olive Island has been having some problems with re-shifting the origional plan due to current croatian environmental laws. This is done and it is back in sales. I was on the Island with the developer and construction on the marina has started! If you're interested in the resort let me know

Hi Is this complex only for the UK & Irish Market?I know the Croatian Property well enough to know they very seldom take out a large size Colour advert in The Irish Times.Prices seem rather high for the location.

is this island ugljan off zadar? if so the that must be the marina that they are builing in my fathers town in between lukoran and sutomiscisa.
ho much are they going for? not for nothing, but i hate that development. croatians have to be crazy to allow foriegners to build such exclusive places.
anyway, i have land that is within a few hundred meters of that god forsaken marina

Thank you all for the replies, I've just returned from Croatia having spent 5 weeks there (including short visits to Montenegro and Bulgaria). It seems that the developers overcame the problems related to local authorities, permission etc. Nice location and it seems Zadar is getting more visitors these days. I've been to Croatia a few times before, love the place, but also checked Montenegro (prices going up) and Bulgaria (cheap village houses and apartments). Of course, Croatia is a different matter, but is getting very expensive.

So Mark - what did you think of Olive Island Resort? Have they actually started building yet?
