In an interview this morning HRT a senior civil servant from Pravosudje and expert on property (Milan Roca) stated that following up from a weekend newspaper report that an advisory had been given to set local land prices. It has been completed in 4 Counties (Sisak-Moslavina, Krapina-Zagorje, Sibenik-Knin and Vukovar-Syrmia), also to be issued are Lika-Senj and Dubrovnik-Neretva.
He stated that the greatest difficulty faced by officials were by local civil servants (employees of Opcine) who refused to comply with requests to release data on housing numbers and planning. In Vukovar he stated that the new build price would be an expected €150 per m2, land ranging from 0.50cents to €11 per m2. Sibenik he said had experienced a fall (which was news to all) as had, from prelim outtakes Dubrovnik and Sisak. Krapina was rising most rapidly - up 150% since 2005.
Now, this might well be a political thing, but it remains to be seen what happens when they complete the other coastal areas and Zagreb.

it would be good if these values were used by the tax office to calculate RETT. At the moment its all a bit finger in the air and their valuations have nothing to do with what the property can fetch on the open market.
