The sale of my Rijeka flat has been derailed by the buyers bank manager taking an early extended holiday! It all turned out for the best as we used the time to test the theory that one can buy ones balcony if it is not on the title. My girlfriend talked to all the stakeholders and I am now allowed to include it on my title. I have to pay a small survey fee and fix a leak in the neighbours flat. For a grand total of 2000 Kuna I get 10sq metres added to my title. This means I can ask for more money as Croats will not count any space that is not included on the title. My next task is to buy my okucnice on Mali Losinj. As I mentioned on a previous post I was hoping it could be done by throwing some money at the neighbours. The reason I started this thread is that I was hoping that other people here have balconies and Okucnice's which they can buy extremely cheaply. There is simply no cheaper way I know to improve the value of a property. The city of Rijeka is great to work with but the people who really decide if it goes through are the neighbours.
