Was just wondering what is the experience of financing the property. We are looking to get a mortgage when we buy but we don't really know which direction we should take. Is anybody took a mortgage out with either a UK or Croatian bank? Which UK bank would have Overseas Mortgage for Croatia or which Croatian bank lends to UK residents? Any clause we should look out for? Any info would be appreciated. Many thanks...

i think this has been covered before... answer is no Uk bank will lend. Hypo Aldrie in London and OTP Banka in croatia will both lend to Uk borrowers

Hi, It is possible to get a mortgage in croatia as a foreign citizen but this is only possible if you own a Croatian company. You will then require a minimum 1 years worth of accounts. And then it gets even more complex. You must provide a business plan in croatian which the banks will help you with. If you own land the bank will offer you a loan if you intend to build. on the land with the purpose of resale But they will not loan you money to buy the land or to buy a property with the intention of renting it out.
