We just received this email - can anyone help?
"Please accpet my apologies if this is the wrong email address but it was the only one I have been able to obtain as the british embassy's email addresses does not work. Please could you tell me or direct me somewhere else to where I might see about my eligibility for a croatian passport.
My mother's family are croatian and I am british born. Overall, I was wondering whether I too would be able to hold a croatian passport? and what is the process for obtaining it?"

hi! i went through this in germany as well. to optain a croatian passport you will have to go to the croatian embassy or consulate. you will need a verified translation of your birth certificate and a certification that your mother is a croatian national AND ethnic croatian. then you will have to go through a procedure in which you will have to assure the croatian authorities in written form why you want to get the croatian nationality and declare why you identify yourself as a croatian. this must be written in croatian, of course.
but i would like to remind you, if you have both passports, in croatia they will treat you exclusively as a croatian. if you get in trouble there, the british authorities won't do anything to help you and vice versa.
