Adivce needed please - I am moving to Croatia in September and have a place to stay for as long as we want, but ideally I want to buy my own place - house, garden, decent views, good connections etc. Dependin on who I speak to I get loads of options:
Samabor, Slema (hills north of Zagreb), Dugo Selo, Zelina, East of the City, West of the city (on the tramlines).
Until I am out there it is difficult to find property for Zagreb. There are a few websites, but details seem sketchy.
Does anyone have any ideas which areas are good, established, respectable, etc
All comments welcome.

If I was to live near Zagreb I would pick Samobor, very picturesque small town and not far from Zagreb, I don't know what peak hour traffic would be like.
If you were working in Zagreb you would probably need a car I would think, I don’t know what the public transport is like.
And yes Samobor is great fresh hot kremsnite. Yummmm!!

I vote Samobor as well. The public transportation is excellent from Samobor to Zagreb (or so i've been told).

Takes about 45-50 mins to drive in from Samobor in rush hour. There is the Samoborcek bus also.
