Misha Glenny's book is great, but David Owens book was a better one to bring up here as just the name Owen should be enough to wind up a few people with narrow minds

How about Antony Loyd's (the Times war correspondent) excellent book about the gritty stuff, the down-to-earth, first-hand, front line experience from a really brave man who saw it all with his own eyes and was not hiding in conference halls and political jet-set, like some opportunists of the Oh-We know it all- kind...

Sorry can't remember, but if you ask at Waterstones or the like under his name, I think that's the only book he's written so far - they're bound to find it for you and it makes for excellent & exciting reading(my favourite war correspondent, forget the John Simpsons of this world!)

Just found it: My War Gone By, I Miss It So. He's also written something on Milosevic.
